Horror maestros Anchor Bay and Ariescope Pictures have announced that HATCHET will be making its national theatrical release on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007. The film was originally set for a Spring 2007 release date but with more time, the picture will have an even wider release, bowing on more screens across the country, according to Anchor Bay.
HATCHET revolves around a group of tourists who get stranded in a New Orleans haunted swamp which quickly turns out to be especially horrific.
While not that much is known about the film, buzz on it is that it features some pretty nasty, brutal scenes. With films such as the SAW franchise and HOSTEL upping the ante on what constitutes as brutal horror it better be.
