Review by: The Angry Princess

Christopher P. Garetano offers us a unique look from the movie makers point of view in his new film "Horror Business" For those of us out there that think making a movie is just a day of smooth sailing, we get a rude awakening on the basis of how things really work. Most people usually assume that the directors have deep pockets and in most cases this is just not true and they have to work within a tight budget to make their dreams become visual realities.

I know sometimes I will watch a movie and say to myself "God that was awful, I could probably make a better horror movie myself." I learned today that things aren't always as simple as they seem. Problems arise in every situation you can imagine.

Horror Business shows the highs and lows of the people involved in making these movies that we all love and cherish so much. Sid Haig, HG Lewis and others comment on their views of film making while presenting some facts and opinions on the world of film. You learn of how some of these Directors become fixated on their stories and can't seem to do anything in everyday life until their art is presented fully on film for us the viewers to see. I also learned that our bizarre culture inspires and encourages independent filmmakers to showcase their ideas without the fear of having a movie be a disaster. Some don't care what you think they just want you to see it and be affected by it one way or another.

I loved every minute of this film. It taught me alot about how things are done behind the scenes and that you should never give up your hope or incentive to follow thru with your passion even though it is one of the most competitive arts out there today. Horror Business is a must see for any fan of the horror genre. Not only do you get insight on their methods of mayhem but you also grasp onto the fact that you can do anything you put your mind into and to just have a little faith in yourself, your cast and crew, and of course the fans who surround you.
