From Variety:
Zack Snyder, director of the remake of “Dawn of the Dead” and the smash hit “300,” has been tapped by Warner Bros. to make “Army of the Dead,” yet another zombie film. “Army,” which is based on a story written by Snyder, may or may not be directed by Snyder, whose next film as a director will be the eagerly awaited adaptation of Alan Moore’s “Watchmen,” which starts filming by the end of the summer.
Joby Harold, who penned the upcoming film “Awake” for The Weinstein Company, will write the script for “Army.” The story takes place in Las Vegas in the close future, where a father tries to save his daughter from the flesh-starved zombies. Las Vegas sounds like the ultimate location for a zombie pic, so this one could be awesome. Cuz as you know, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…which includes getting ripped in two by a pack of the undead.
