The Weeping Lady

608136695 lEveryone loves a good ghost/haunting story right?

Well heres a new one from Terrence Williams called “Curse of La Llorona.” From the looks of the trailer it has a good story to it, put together well, and it looks to be a bit gory in parts too.

The film is a sequel to “The River: Legend of La Llorona,” which was released in April 2006 from Brain Damage Films/Pendulum Pictures as part of the “Hostile Hauntings” compilation.

Plot:
“Curse of La Llorona” (Spanish for The Weeping Lady), is a horror film about a troubled family that must unite to save their young niece from the sinister forces of La Llorona, an evil spirit that inhabits an abandoned house.

Check out the links and the trailer below. Also stay tuned for a review of this flick from us in the near future!

  1. I appreciate anybody who works at creating horror flicks for us to enjoy, but FOR GAWD'S SAKE, practice your craft before we put the damned DVD in our players. Bad writing/bad acting/bad directing. Nice nay-nays on the gals, though.

These were awful, man. Shame on you guys for recommending it. Shame on me for thinking you were legit reviewers.

  2. Uh… my bad. I read your review and commented on what you wrote here: "From the looks of the trailer it has a good story to it, put together well, and it looks to be a bit gory in parts too."

Regardless, the review you link to is a waste of space for a director not quite noteworthy, good or bad. You just gave 750-1000 words on a bad movie nobody will want to see when you could've given that to a good movie nobody knows about. You get this?

Why not just review either high profile flicks, or movies worth a look, indie and otherwise. There's way too many good movies with zero marketing budget that could benefit from your exposure.

Admin, disregard my private comment to you; I mistakenly believed I was replying to a private comment.

  3. We are very fair here, giving almost equal attention to all films, indie, major, good and bad. We get films in all the time and this one happens to be a bad one. This doesn't mean we are only going to talk about the bad. There is good in most all movies, so there is something to talk about for all of them. This also mean we are (not) not going to review it just because there is another one out there that could benefit from our exposure more. If those types of movies are out there and we receive them, we will give them the review they deserve too.

  4. You guys need to redefine your mission statement to "reviewing anything you send us" with the addendum "we will find the good in most all movies" so that everybody gets a smiley-face by default.

You guys should at least pretend you're paying for these movies you review. Just to get your head in the right place. Remember that some of us buy these DVDs. And some of us buy off positive reviews and recommendations. (We're such suckers, eh?)

  5. We will review anything you send us, that is the whole point of sending us something for review right? And we will give you an honest review of the movie as well. If there is something good about it, we will tell you. If there is something bad, we will tell you.

For the movie series that these comments are about..well… like I said from the beginning, we never really said anything that good about them. Check the links again.

We are not sugar coating anything, we are not just dishing out "smiley faces" left and right. We are giving a look to these movies that most will never even bother with. Some are good, some are bad, some are both, but all will get reviewed honestly.

When you said "And some of us buy off positive reviews and recommendations. (We're such suckers, eh?)" Well read the review again. Its not that positive. I would not go and buy anything from that review, so maybe you are a sucker.

  6. I spoke in general, off your comment, but yeah, I've been an honest sucker before. In renting and buying. Even off mildly positive comments, hoping that the reviewer's just indecisive, or, just doesn't get it. But if a reviewer's honest and says "skip this," or "shit sandwich" or "totally sucked," then that's honest and the reviewer's done me a favor.

    Yeah, I've been suckered.
But I'll never be a swag whore.

  7. I saw Revenge of La Llorona and liked it. I have not seen the other one. It was a low budget movie and I knew that going in. I don't get people who buy or rent low budget films expecting Hollywood type productions… that's why they are called low-budget. Anyhow, the reason I like Horror Society is because they review low budget films. There are many other sites that only review big budget stuff, I like underground movies like this one. The guy who is complaining is obviously an idiot and probably doesn't like anything including himself. Reviews are helpful but not the sole deciding factor on if I watch a movie or not… and if a review is used as the sole deciding factor for picking a film then this guy needs some fuckin' pussy!
