MALONEAUSTINFilm Stars/Actors Ford Austin & Randal Malone Team Up to Fight the “Mutant Rat Invasion”

Indie film star Ford Austin and Hollywood celebrity/actor Randal Malone have been cast opposite each other in the lead roles in the upcoming Michael W. Schwibs Productions feature film entitled “Mutant Rat Invasion”. The film is being helmed by maverick director Jeff Leroy (Creepies I & II, Werewolf in a Women’s Prison, Alien 3000) and is slated for release in early 2008.

“Mutant Rat Invasion” is a feature film about a female astronaut named Sonja who is sent with a team to a distant planet in search of life. The private space exploration firm who finances and produces her space mission is the Steel Space Corporation. The founder and CEO of the Steel Space Corporation, Dr. Steel, is being played by Randal Malone (MTV’s Singled Out, In The Land of the Merry Misfits, The Curse of LIzzie Borden).

When her space mission goes awry after being attacked by mutant rats from another planet, Sonja’s ex-marine boyfriend Jake, portrayed by film star Ford Austin (The Wright Stuff, Pearl Harbor, Family Tree), has to race against time to save her before Dr. Steel can kill her off and save the world.

In the true spirit of independent sci-fi films such as the original Star Wars and Star Trek, the film’s director, Jeff Leroy has chosen to make use of many CGI techniques combined with a pleothra of practical effects, and miniatures. With a limited budget, most production companies are forced to do away with practical effects entirely to cut costs, but Michael W. Schwibs, the executive producer of the film and Maverick Jeff Leroy have gone out of their way to see that the money is put on the screen and that the film makes good on the promises of its incendiary title about the “Mutant Rat Invasion”.

Once production and post-production are completed, the sci-fi feature “Mutant Rat Invasion” will premiere in Los Angeles, California with the film’s stars in attendance.
