Legion of The Liar

Review by AngryPrincess

Legion of The Liar was born out of the years of fascination the director had with the touchy topic of Exorcism. All of the concepts shown here were transcribed from Daniel Stanton’s own wonderful head that was filled with scenes of a teen girls demonic possession and a Reverend that tries to save her.

I will state right off the bat that not everyone will be addicted to this movie as much as I am, you have to have that thrill of old mental asylums and love to see their old crumbling walls just imagining all of the bad that happened there- the impure looming of negative energy that would encompass you if you walked down those halls yourself.

Symbolic images coarse over the screen as you listen to patient number 29’s account of what is happening to her as the moody violin pushes it along softly but strongly in the background. The Reverend speaks in a monotone voice that makes you feel safe as you hear the most awful guttural growls escape her weak quivering lips.

hall

Those growls and spent like hisses on their own are enough to terrify you into going back to sit in that wooden pew at your local church. This is a truly skin crawling evil so nasty it actually makes you question your faith. Meshed in with the present film is old footage of the Ravenwood State Hospital in which this psychological horror takes place.

dead

This is Daniel Stanton’s first film for Cinema Edge Productions and also his first very own directorial debut and to be honest I kind of feel sorry for him because his next film has to be pretty extraordinary to surpass this eerie yet visually stunning account of a girls battle with pure evil.
