Horror Down South

aspiringfilmsWhile some kids say their parents fight fires or perform surgery for a living, 17-year-old Courtney Crittenden’s response might turn some heads at Owensboro High School.

Her dad films horror movies.

Crittenden assisted her father, director Mark Pivot, as he and his 10-member cast continued filming his self-written film "Scorned" on location in Whitesville, in mid-November.

Pivot said the filming is expected to conclude next month after having shot scenes throughout the Owensboro and Evansville areas, including a home on Burdette Court.

Working with a $25,000 budget, Pivot said he is in contact with distributors in Florida, and may even be using sources connected to "The Blair Witch Project."

"Last night we buried a couple of people," Pivot said before his main character "accidentally" fell into a hole in the woods. "Now she’s trying to get away from big ol’ Bob."
