STMD Convention Tour

stmdlogoWiggy Von Schtick and Off Set Pictures are proud to announce two new screenings of their ultra-low budget slasher/zombie/exploitation motion picture extravaganza, Stupid Teenagers Must Die! Since the horror comedy never saw a theatrical release, movie fans have taken it upon themselves to screen STMD! at fan conventions across the country. San Jose, California’s SiliCon and Akron, Ohio’s Con On The Cob screened the movie in 2007 and this year, Stupid Teenagers Must Die! will find its way to conventions in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Bloomington, Minnesota. STMD! director Jeff C. Smith expresses his appreciation: “Stupid Teenagers Must Die! is a lot more fun to watch with a large group of like-minded movie geeks – preferably intoxicated like-minded movie geeks – so we’re thrilled whenever a con offers to do a screening.”

The first convention screening will be at Con Nooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Saturday, February 23rd as a part of their all-night film festival. Con Nooga is a convention focused on the fans and bringing fans from numerous genres and areas together in one place. Featuring gaming tournaments, seminars, workshops, contest, entertainment, celebrities, music, horror, anime, costuming, fantasy, science fiction, paranormal, films, comics and more! For more information, visit www.ConNooga.com.

On Saturday, March 1st, Smith will be in Bloomington, Minnesota to introduce Stupid Teenagers Must Die! to the folks of MarsCon 2008. Now in its tenth year, MarsCon features great guests of honor, demented musical acts and infamous room parties. According to the STMD! blog, Smith will be at the screening to “do a Q&A if people actually have Q’s to A.” More information can be found at www.MarsCon.com.

Set in the 1980’s, Stupid Teenagers Must Die! tells the story of a group of teenagers that hold a séance in a haunted house. All the typical 80’s horror movie characters are there: the cool hero, the innocent girlfriend, the goth chick, the tough guy, the beautiful blonde girl, the shy guy in love with the beautiful blonde girl, a couple of lipstick lesbians and two big geeks.

In true low budget 80’s horror movie fashion, weird things start happening around the house. One dimensional characters are dying preposterously bloody deaths, girls are getting naked for no apparent reason and people walk into dangerous, pitch black rooms saying classic lines like, “Is someone in here?” As the poor, hapless kids are sliced and diced, it’s up to our hero to lead the remaining survivors to safety before the house is filled with stupid dead teenagers.
