As soon as I saw the name Daniel Baldwin I began to get nervous, it seems a lot of the films this man stars in suck or he can’t seem to fit the role he is usually playing. I was wrong he pulled this character off with ease and skill. You go Danny! This is one Baldwin brother who has his shit together, and he isn’t yelling inappropriate names at his daughter on some answering machine.
Even though this movie is sort of sounding like a vacuum cleaner or something else that would vibrate, it still works. Dee Wallace plays a Jesus freak… or should I say Jesus enthusiast, alcoholic mother who is up her son’s ass. That bible is never far from her drunken grasp but you eventually learn why she is so hell bent on preaching the Lord plus Her son Jimmy is a total loser who makes a living at robbing people.
Well this time Jimmy and his friend Steve pick the wrong house to rob. What they find in that house made my stomach turn and at the thought of someone having one of my kids in a situation like that- it made me wanna choke just with the thought of it. While they are there Jimmy steals this evil devil worshipping talisman that looks old and rare. He leaves with the thought of big bucks, but what he gets is much worse.
Is the story believable? Yes if you believe in heaven and hell and all of those afterlife perks one might receive. Did I like it? I guess so since I watched the whole thing with out moaning and groaning about how far and few in between it is when I seriously get a good movie, so that’s a good sign. Sure parts are some what predictable but this flick is totally watchable and nice and bloody!
