A Limited Edition Book Launch Signing at Halloween Town “Where Madness Reigns”, the first book to showcase the art of Gris Grimly, will be released as a limited edition hardcover June 7th 2008 at Halloween Town in Burbank California.

On Saturday night of June 7th, join artist Gris Grimly at HALLOWEEN TOWN for the book release party. Not only will you have the opportunity to be one of the first to purchase a limited edition copy of the hardcover book, there will also be limited edition silk screened posters, exclusive event t-shirts and oneof-a-kind items. There will be a gallery display of prints and original art for sale, some of which, have never been on display or available to the public before. Props from Gris Grimly’s film “CANNIBAL FLESH RIOT!” will be on display as well as some three dimensional sculptures. The soft cover version of the book as well as other event t-shirts will also be available.

This event all takes place at the spacious Halloween Town in Burbank California. This appropriately creepy setting is not only your one-stop Halloween headquarters, but they are also known for their selection of horror t-shirts, gothic home décor/decorations, jewelry, clothes, fashion accessories and gifts. Join like-minded fiends (from 7pm to 9pm) to get these great limited items, meet Gris Grimly and get your book autographed. Items are on a first come first served basis.

About Gris Grimly:
GRIS GRIMLY can be best described as a storyteller. His distinctive style and wide selection of mediums have captivated a variety of loyal fans and fine art collectors. Originally recognized for his dark yet humorous illustrations for young readers, Mr. Grimly’s interpretive visions have now captured the attention and recognition for his full resume of work.

Gris Grimly’s intricate lines and startling layouts combined with an exceptional use of carefully controlled watercolor and ink washes brought him to the attention of high-profile publishers such as Hyperion Press, Chronicle Books, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, and Scholastic.

Over the past decade, Gris Grimly’s age old desire to tell unique stories has reached a worldwide audience. His talents can now be appreciated in
over a dozen best selling books. This includes his personal writing/illustrating in the Wicked Nursery Rhymes series and Little Jordan Ray’s Muddy Spud. He has also been paired with such classic and contemporary authors as Neil Gaiman on The Dangerous Alphabet, Washington Irving on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow and Edgar Allan Poe on Tales of Mystery and Madness. The highly anticipated Spring ’08 release of Where Madness Reigns: The Art of Gris Grimly collects samples of his fine art and illustrations from the past decade. In addition, Gris is constructing a follow up to the acclaimed Tales of Mystery and Madness and a third installment for the Wicked Nursery Rhymes series.

After the release of his first book, Monster Museum, in 2001, he was approached by high profile licensing companies for the production of merchandise. No more than a year later, his highly collectable t-shirts were distributed in stores all over the country, becoming best selling items in Hot Topic and Torrid. To this day, these shirts have become highly sought after and remembered. Other licenses include three dimensional sculptures, glassware, greeting cards and accessories. He is currently working with Gentle Giant LTD. on statues and figurines for a near future release.

His work has appeared in the leading arts journal, Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art. He has been honored twice by the Society of Illustrators and has been included in the Society’s 2004 and 2005 exhibits on The Fine Art of Children’s Book Illustration. In the spring of 2006, Mr. Grimly’s Artwork was on exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in conjunction with the museums 40th Anniversary Celebration. His art has been displayed in solo and group exhibitions in note worthy galleries in Los Angeles, New York and cities in between. His work has been recognized and honored by such prestigious institutions as The Edward Gorey House and The Edgar Allan Poe Museum.

In 2005, he ventured into moving pictures as Writer/Producer/Director of the demented and humorous independent featurette, Cannibal Flesh Riot! Since its release in the fall of 2006, it has been highly received at film festivals and continues to attract a loyal audience of cult film fans. His passion for the medium has him in preparation for new film projects on the horizon.

Established as an illustrator, author, fine artist, and filmmaker, he exposes those who seek to be takeninto his world without boundaries or apologies. His style continually evolves and delineates with brilliance. It is qualities such as these that are only found in the finest of today’s masters in the world of contemporary art.
