Timo Rose, Joe Zaso and Raine Brown: Da’ Beasts are Back! By Brian Kirst

Acclaimed director and rap musician (King Hannibal), Timo Rose is back. Two years after unleashing the Hills Have Eyes-torture porn model Barricade upon the world, Rose is now revving up the Beast.

Timo Rose’s Beast chronicles the fates of several doubly cursed individuals. Not only does this unfortunate crew turn into feral monsters (seemingly at the most inopportune moments), but they also find themselves being tracked across Germany by mysterious, unknown forces.

Besides Rose’s trademark gore, one of Timo Rose’s Beast’s most attractive qualities is its amazing cast of horror film stalwarts. First off, Barricade co-stars Joe Zaso and Raine Brown return to enact more esophageal mayhem. Zaso, one of the most interesting independent horror film actors, seems to be adding another complex character to his already scar strewn belt here and the spunky Brown is virtually unrecognizable in a chopped brown wig and black pirate bandana get-up. In fact, in the awesome my space trailer (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=41302683), Brown seems mighty pissed – but it isn’t about the quality of her other co-stars, that’s for sure. Razor Blade Smile’s Eileen Daly, looking sexier than ever, is beautifully featured as one of the beastly turning wonders and even “Mama Zombie” Judith O’Dea (Night of the Living Dead) and Horror Society favorite Monique Dupree are on hand to give their own form of dramatic support.

Even from the brevity of the trailer, it is obvious that Rose’s skills as a storyteller have grown since Barricade’s blood-strewn onslaught – and one needs only to log onto www.myspace.com/beastmovie to keep abreast of his latest limb ripping wonder.
