horrorfilmworkshp Horror Film Workshop for TeenagersA digital project is looking for young horror fans in Birmingham to make the next Halloween or Nightmare On Elm Street.

And the organisers hope to use the project to make the first feature film from the region made entirely by young people.

The Killriculum project is a scheme designed to teach young people the skills of film making by getting them to make their own blood-chilling films.

It is aimed at 11-18-year-olds keen to get into the creative industries and teaches scripting, camera work and all the other Hollywood tricks of the trade.

It also involves workshops designed to teach budding Wes Cravens how to make fake blood; what kind of make-up makes the perfect zombie, and how to get a pitch-perfect slasher movie scream.

The organisers have set up a website for people to send in their own short horror films. And they are now looking for funding for the next stage, which will be a full-length horror film made entirely in the West Midlands.
