Tiffany Shepis: All Over It with the Golden Girl of Grue! By Brian Kirst
It’s Saturday evening in Chicago and, as usual, Tiffany Shepis is a whirlwind of motion. Having spent the previous night morphing into Jeffrey Combs’ ReAnimator character for a Scotchworthy Productions calendar shoot, she has just finished judging a screaming contest for the Chicago Horror Film Festival and is now chilling for a moment in front of Illinois’ historic Portage Theater. Perfect time to catch up, no? Within moments, Shepis, one of the most in-demand terror goddesses, proves how valuable her name is to the horror community.
“Well, I’m in the Night of the Demons remake. It’s a different movie from the original and I only have a small part – but it’s memorable.” After that? “Then I’m going to Pittsburgh to work with Stephen Geoffreys on New Terminal Hotel. Its Geoffreys’ (star of Fright Night and 976 Evil 2) return to the horror field and I play a crazy literary agent.”
Shepis, who is also in talks with Scotchworthy’s Tony Wash to appear in a production called Stronger Than Death, will then tackle a “fierce” project – her directing debut, Devil’s Pies. “It started out as a joke, then Hollywood Reporter caught wind of it – and there you go.” Written by Shepis with her frequent collaborator Rolfe Kanefsky, Devil’s Pies concerns (among other things) the search for “the hottest, baddest virgins!” Need she say more?
Well, she could tell you to visit her site, www.tiffany-shepis.com or www.myspace.com/tshepis. “Yeah, purchase something,” she cackles good-naturedly after this reporter’s suggestion. “Help send my kid to boarding school in Switzerland!’
