Embryo takes the idea of The Embryo Hunts in Secret, a japanese movie of 1966 directed by Koji Wakamatsu, adapted to the personal style and intentions of director Gonzalo López. The classical pulsion between sex, desire and violence of the japanese director meet in this film, whose lack of resources and misse-en-scene establish a dialogue with the B-movies in which is inspired, deliberately moving away from the nowadays typical industrial cinema, and betting for tribute to the avant-garde cinema of the cinema of the sixties.

Embryo is the first movie produced by AVED PAPC, after a long path in the shortfilm format. With budget lower than the current productions, it becomes by own merits in a riskful and spirited bet inside the static panorama of the spanish cinema.

Synopsis:
On a saturday night, Jenny (Mariona Tena) meets Carlos (Sergio Bernal). A party and a few more drinks than usual will convince Jenny to go to his apartment to finish off the party. What it seems a one night stand with another guy on a weekend will become a nightmare for Jenny when she finds out his intention to kidnap her since Carlos is madly in love with her.

From this moment on, a difficult and tense relationship will start. Carlos, a communist with a sexual trauma, is going to show Jenny an unknown world for her, a place where ideas and mixed feelings will change their lives forever.
