Carpenters Halloween. By Brian Kirst

$15 – Mary’s Attic – 5400 N. Clark
Ingeniously created by Scott Bradley and Jonny Stax, Carpenters Halloween blends the slashing energy of John Carpenter’s classic horror flick with the soft and tender musings of Karen and Richard Carpenter.
Bradley and Stax find incisive ways to incorporate numbers like ‘Sing’ and ‘Hurting Each Other’ into the world of Laurie Strode and Dr. Loomis – and all of their dead on cast vocalize with ease and grace.
Director-Scenic Designer Bradley creatively and simply devises ways to illustrate the film’s multiple settings and Eric Daly’s wigs and Bill Morey’s costumes aid him immensely in bringing the world of Haddonfield to brimming life.
The entire cast – whether puppet or live performer- amazes while special mention must be given to the charismatic/sexy Charis Boyd as Annie Gloyn and Ryan Guhde who amazingly replicates Nurse Marion Chambers and delivers a Lindsey Wallace so close to the original that you’d swear he was Kyle Richards’ doppelganger.
