346484464 Horror Poster CollectorKerry Haggard always preferred horror films rather than radio music in his workshop. He played with rubber Frankenstein and Wolf Man toys as a child and built monster model kits such as Dracula and The Mummy. In his home, “Kolchak: The Night Stalker” was the Friday night TV staple, followed by “Shock Theater” on Saturdays. Of course, he knew all the words to his favorite ’30s and ’40s horror films.

“I’ve been reading and studying since I was 8,” he said.

So, the artwork covering wall after wall in his Commerce home really is not as shocking to Haggard’s friends and family as it may be to visitors. Why wouldn’t a horror film lover zero in on monster movie posters?

“I always had these mad ideas,” Haggard said, smiling as his eyes glanced to the dozens of framed posters in his view. “Every day is Halloween here. October is our favorite month.”
