Lynn Lowry: Splattering with the Best Supporting Actress! By Brian Kirst
The amazing Lynn Lowry (star of George Romero’s seminal The Crazies and David Cronenberg shocker Shivers) is having an incredible month. The week of October 25th, Lowry won Best Supporting Actress at the Terror Film Festival in Philadelphia for her work in the well regarded slasher Basement Jack. As Mrs. Riley, a mother with an ‘electric’ way of showing her affection, Lowry delivers an intense, psychologically charged performance. Indeed, for Lowry, who has been having wonderful career resurgence as of late, this must be a fantastic topper to an already full career.
One of Lowry’s latest projects is also being released to DVD on Tuesday, November 18th. Splatter Disco, which recently received a rave review in Fangoria Magazine, will be hitting the shelves courtesy of Shock-O-Rama! Lowry’s co-stars in this horrific comedy include genre regulars Ken Foree, Trent Haaga and Debbie Rochon (who details her joyous experience working on the production at www.beowolfproductions.com/debbierochoninterview.html).

Of course, this must be a joyous time for Lowry, herself. With a career that has encompassed so many ups and downs (with un-credited bits and several years of filmic unemployment), the kind and spiritual Lowry seems to have finally earned her place in cinematic history. No one deserves it more.
