With the openings of The Final Destination and Halloween 2 today who could have thought that the weekend would get even better for horror and science fiction lovers? Well, now Sy Fy Channel has announced that it will be showing MegaShark Versus Giant Octopus starring recent Horror Society interviewee (and future genre queen) Deborah Gibson on Saturday, August 29th at 9pm(8 central)!
MegaShark is a goofy charmer with enjoyable Nintendo-like effects and a gusto-filled, tongue-in-cheek performance from Gibson.
This past June the versatile Gibson performed a vigerously eclectic concert in Chicago. While enacting dance strewn versions of her biggest hits and quieting the soul with tender ballads, Gibson also gave off a little Broadway flair by performing a Kander-Ebb melody that left no doubt to her overwhelming skill. Gibson radiated naughtiness and joy performing such Cabaret numbers as ‘Don’t Tell Momma’ – a burlesque performer’s lament and she and her dancers agressively kicked their heels to several athletic numbers from Chicago, as well.
Granted, Gibson kicks prehistoric monster butt just as competently in MegaShark and one need only tune into Sy Fy this Saturday to witness that for themselves.
