Hammer House Demolition

Say goodbye to the house that Hammer Built….

The film studios used to shoot the Hammer horror films and special-effects for Doctor Who could be demolished for housing.

Bray Studios in Berkshire, where Dracula, the Revenge of Frankenstein and the Hound of the Baskervilles were filmed, faces shutdown as it struggles to compete with rivals Pinewood and Shepperton and new movie-making technology.

The owners are seeking planning permission to build homes on the site. “It is no longer a viable business,” the application to the council says.
