Lethal Obsession

DIRECTED BY: Chris Jay
REVIEWED BY: Mario Dominick

A masked psychopath is stalking and killing girls who work for a fetish website called obsessioncams.com. The killer always either strikes when the girls are performing their acts on live webcams over the internet or when they’re getting ready to perform them after knocking their handlers unconscious. A detective named Tony Dennet (Brad Mills) who’s moved from the big city to a smaller town tries to solve the heinous crimes. While investigating, his prime suspect appears to be the website’s owner Elizabeth Waters (Kitsie Duncan) who seems to be acting like she has something to hide.

Lethal Obsession is a well-crafted, gruesome psycho killer/stalker flick done somewhat in the fashion of old giallos and the kill scenes are certainly brutal and gore soaked with axe murders, a particularly nasty scene of a girl’s back mutilated by S&M hooks, and much more. The plot throws in some interesting twists along the way and a considerable amount of nail biting suspense comes along near the end. Also featured in the cast are Austin Dossey and Marv Blauvelt from Sculpture. Filmmaker Chris Jay and Darkrider Studios have shown a promising start with this effort. I very much look forward to their future projects.

Darkrider Studios’ DVD of Lethal Obsession contains outtakes, an alternate ending, bonus short films, trailers, and more.
