Eric Caidin and Brian Quinn with Grindhouse Releasing present The Grindhouse Film Festival: A Tribute to Brian Muir
Special Guests: Dee Wallace, Scott Grimes (tentative) and Mark Helfrich. Additional Guests to be announced
Join Grindhouse Fest at the New Beverly Cinema on Tuesday, November 16th, as they celebrate the life of writer Brian (Domonic) Muir, who left the planet after a long battle with cancer on Sept. 19, 2010. The main course of the double-dose of half-pint horrors begins with CRITTERS (1986 written by Muir), in which oddball intergalactic bounty hunters hunt toothy, furry creatures from another world as they eat their way through a small mid-western town. This is a newly discovered (in Muir’s closet!) 35mm print, and is the only complete print of the film to be shown in L.A. since the original release. For dessert, enjoy an extra helping of THE CHILDREN (1980), in which a radioactive cloud turns the town’s tykes into murderous psychopaths with black fingernails. Brian didn’t write it, but there was nothing he loved more than seeing a kid acting bratty in public and shouting, “Cut off their hands!!” Spend an evening with family, friends and fans as we raise our popcorn to a talent who left us far too early.
