Justin Kohn at Animation Celebration

Grand Rapids, Mich.: Nov. 20 – Stop-motion animation specialist, Justin Kohn, will display props from his body of work for the first time at the “Animation Celebration” film festival at the Knickerbocker Theater in Holland, Mich., on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Kohn is supplying props from the films he worked on for public display to event ticket holders, including items from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and Monkeybone.

Animation Celebration, sponsored by Phoenix E.V. Inc., marks the first time that these props will be publicly displayed anywhere in the United States.

We are excited to be a part of this event,” said Phoenix E.V. Inc. event coordinator, Mark Hodges. “We want our event to be as educational as possible in addition to being fun and entertaining, and being able to display actual props used in these stop-motion films fits well into our goals.”

Kohn will give discussions about the props and his work in the animation industry, as well as sign autographs and meet with fans.

“It is just fun and exciting to be able to host this unique display of Hollywood memorabilia,” said Hodges.

This museum display is being supervised by Phoenix E.V. as well as Hope College, the owner of the Knickerbocker. Students from the college will be overseeing the display of these props.
