Vampire Poetry With BITE

Think you’ve read it all when it comes to vampires? Then you haven’t given this a go. A Silver Kiss, by Dianna Hardy, brings vampire poetry to life, reviving a genre first laid down by Heinrich August Ossenfelder in 1748.

Like many poetry compilations in the contemporary field, this is a modest book, sporting 66 pages. Unlike many modern poetry books, this is filled with lyrical tales of passion, sorrow and horror. The twenty five poems, some short and some as long as four pages, will have you conversing with your dark side as you cringe at the imagery of vampires hunting down babies and sigh as “victims” succumb to their seductive wiles.

With regards to the poetry itself, this is Dianna’s third compilation and you’ll find both free form and rhyming styles to appeal to all tastes. She’s even managed to fit Haiku into the realm of the vampire.

Officially not published until 1st January, 2011, A Silver Kiss was released by the publishers into distribution in November and is beginning to appear in online bookstores now, including Amazon stores and The Book Depository. You can also purchase it directly from the publishers, Bitten Fruit Books – a perfect gift for a gothic Christmas.

Dark, daring and sensual, Dianna Hardy’s exploration of the vampire’s nature and the darkness of the human mind, is not one to be missed.
