Director Chan-wook Park Shoots Film on IPhone4

With all the new technological advances we’ve seen lately, it is obvious that video cameras will receive some sort of upgrade. Well, here you go! The video camera built into the IPhone4 is so powerful that director Chan-wook Park shot his new film, Paranmanjang, entirely on camera phone. The new film is described as a fantasy-horror piece made on a budget of only $130,000. The plot of Paranmanjang is kind of confusing; something about a woman dying in a fish line, only to kill a man and awaken him as her father…? I’ll have to see it to understand, but at least Apple’s new IPhone4 will hopefully inspire amateur film makers to get out there and shoot us some new horror films.

Chan-wook Park is one of the most well known directors in South Korea. His most notable work includes Lady Vengeance (2005), Thirst (2009), and his biggest accomplishment, Oldboy in 2003. Thirst, a vampire film, won the Saturn Award for Best International Film in 2010.
