Park Chan-wook iPhone Movie in Berlin

Chan-wook Park is one of the most well known directors in South Korea. His most notable work includes Lady Vengeance (2005), Thirst (2009), and his biggest accomplishment, Oldboy in 2003. Thirst, a vampire film, won the Saturn Award for Best International Film in 2010. The new film is described as a fantasy-horror piece made on a budget of only $130,000. Well it looks like this one is being picked up at the Berlin Shorts Section of their film fest.

SEOUL — Director Park Chan-wook’s latest short film Paranmanjang (Night Fishing), shot entirely on an iPhone, was invited to the Berlin International Film Festival’s shorts section.

Park (Thirst) and his artist brother Park Chan-kyong made the fantasy flick starring singer-turned-actress Lee Jung-hyun that “finds images and rituals to tell of the transitions between life and death,” according to the festival’s press release.
