As fans of the horror genre, we’ve created our own little media community, one that is generally overlooked or hated on by all the other mass media markets. It’s because of this fact that I feel we should do our part to take place in the #85hourtweetathon on twitter. There is a guy across the pond in England who is hard at work producing a zombie film called Invasion of The Not Quite Dead. And he needs our help. He is aiming to shoot a “very ambitious opening scene” in March and is looking for funds to help him achieve this. Gale Ann Hurd (Aliens), Ken Russel (Tommy), Kevin Pollack (The Usual Suspects), Jonathan Ross (Film 2010), Lee Boardman (Rome), and Wheatus (song “Teenager Dirt Bag” ) all have some role involved with this project.
To raise funds, Indywood films is just attacking all the social networking sites – mostly twitter and facebook. Apparently the opening scene will be fully funded by fans. Being fans of independent horror here at Horror Society, I think we should do what we can. Even if you don’t donate any money to this film, tweet it. Promotion and publicity can never harm a film. But, keep this in mind. Special packages are being offered on his website. Most packages offer you a small spot on the MAKING OF section of the special features when the DVD is released. But more importantly the more pricier packages are offering you a special thanks credit or even executive/associate producer credit on the ending credits. As a film graduate trying to build my resume, I’ll probably donate because I can include that on a resume. If having a film credit, and maybe even an IMDB page, interests you then I think the $30 package may be something for you to look at. It also includes a copy of the film and other little things, of course.
Good luck, Indywood films. We’re now in hour 9!
