Rock Legend Creates Horror Production Company

Iconic guitarist Slash, most known for his role in Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, announced at Sundance this week that he has created his own production company that specializes in horror film.  The company is named, of course, Slasher Films. With this early announcement comes the news that Slash is already hard at work producing four horror films. One of the films will take the remake route – Wake of The Dead is said to be a revision of Frankenstein. The other horror films are titled Nothing To Fear, The Other Kingdom, Theorem. No release date has been given for these films yet. Slash plans to draw the horror genre away from the current Hollywood trends and return them to how things were done in the 70s/80s. A source quotes him as saying, “My whole thing is to go back to the days of making very dramatic, serious, plot-driven, character-driven horror movies, as opposed to what’s become the norm this day. Chop ‘em up kind of movies that don’t have real specific characters that you really care anything about.” Interesting. Can’t wait to see what he can bring to the table. Will hard rock royalty translate to horror gold?
