I compiled these numbers for everyone, just so we can see how the horror genre was fairing in the market for the month of January 2011. Keep in mind, DVD and CD sales come in a week AFTER they are released. That is why the release of Saw 3D is not included, the numbers haven’t been reported yet. Also, these are not COMMULATIVE sales numbers, just for the month of January. Hopefully with I Spit On Your Grave, Chain Letter, and Hatchet II arriving on DVD this month we’ll see a lot more numbers next month!

DVD –
- Resident Evil: Afterlife – $18,500,000
- Piranha – $4,500,000
- The Last Exorcism – $6,600,000
- Case 39 – $2,600,000
Expect to see The Roommate be successful when I report next month’s numbers. It is rumored to have made $15,600,000 this weekend.
