Stake Land Receives Release Date

Finally! The independent vampire feature, Stake Land, has finally secured a release date. The date is set for April 22, 2011 even though it hasn’t been confirmed whether it will hit theatres or go straight-to-DVD. Reviews have been mostly positive from film festivals so perhaps it will see a limited release in theatres. Stake Landis Dark Sky and Nick Damici’s follow up film to another horror hit, Mulberry Street.

The synopsis, provided by the official site, says: “In a fierce, alternative vision of America’s bleak future, a young boy is about to learn how cruel the world can be. Martin was a normal teenage boy before the country collapsed in an empty pit of economic and political disaster. And from the ashes rose a new breed of terror. A vampire epidemic has swept across what is left of the nation’s abandoned towns and cities, and it’s up to Mister, a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin safely north to Canada, the continent’s New Eden. Welcome to Stake Land, kid…”

Starring in Stake Landwill be none other than horror’s favorite girl, Danielle Harris. Also starring in this film will be Kelli McGillis (The Witness), Connor Paolo (Gossip Girl), Michael Cerveris (Fringe), and Bonnie Dennison (Guiding Light).

I think this is going to be pretty frickin’ sweet. Check out the creepy and haunting trailer below!
