Splatter Legend David F. Friedman Dies

A horror film legend passed away last night, February 14, 2011. Mr. David F. Friedman passed away in Alabama at the age of 87. You may not recognize his name, but he wrote and produced the 1963 film, Blood Feast, which is credited as the first splatter/gore film in American history. More of his infamous work includes Two Thousand Maniacs (1964), Color Me Blood Red (1965), and Isla: She-Wolf of the S.S. (1975). He most recently worked on films such as Blood Feast 2 (2002), 2000 Maniacs (2009), and 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams (2010).
