Charisma Carpenter, most known for her role as Cordelia Chase on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, booked two independent horror films. She was really popular after her stints on both shows, but went into semi-retirement after the birth of her child. Now she’s back. If you were a fan, she can be seen in the psychological horror film Psychosis and as the host of the special features section on the Lost Boys 3: The Thirst. Both films are currently out on DVD. But, on to the new films!
I think that Crash Site will end up coming out first, since it is in post production. Crash Site was directed by Jason Bourque and also stars Sebastian Spence and Kayden Kessler. It was created on a budget of almost $9,000,000. The plot, taken from IMDB is pretty vague: “A Jeep crash sends a vacationing couple on a creepy trip back to safety.” This horror/thriller will probably either be about aliens or a backwoods hick killer type of film.
The other film, Deadly Sibling Rivalry, is in preproduction. It kind of sounds like a lifetime thriller, doesn’t it? The film is directed by Hanelle M . Culpepper and also stars A. Russell Andrews and K.C. Clyde. There is no description available yet, but some keywords on IMDB are “comatose,” “identity theft,” “twin sister,” and “mystery.” We’ll see how this one turns out.
No trailer has been released for either film, seeing how they’re not actually completed yet. Anyway, good for Charisma! I always think it’s interesting to see what direction actors go in after their cult status fades. Hopefully, horror fans can look forward to seeing both films in 2012.
