Reaper Synopsis

So it looks like this is still in script form, but most likely coming sometime this year….

Synopsis: The story starts with a criminal robbing a couple and killing them. The mugger returns to his apartment, and is inside of that building when he meets and is murdered by Reaper. Reaper is a unique serial killer. He is a Revenant, which is a race of vampires I created among a number of others. The Revenant hunt the evil of society; criminals and the like very well. The more evil the person, the more a Revenant wants them, because feeding off of them is more satisfying.

Reaper has hunted inside of human society for centuries, not bothering to hide most of his murders unlike the rest of his race, but it isn’t until this mugger that he flat out announces himself to the police and everyone else, leaving a message written in blood on the wall of his newest victim’s apartment. The audience is then introduced to the heroes of the film Detective Ortez, and the Necromancer; the man who will become his teacher, and his supporter.

The two heroes have a slightly rough start because Ortez has never had any real experience with the supernatural, and doesn’t take the consultant’s title that seriously at first. He quickly changes his tune as Graves, the Necromancer shows him things that no one else could know, and what is more Ortez can sense a hint of those abilities inside himself. Graves tells Ortez that he too could become a Necromancer and starts talking about what the detective could do after the case they are on is over.

From the clues they find at the crime scene Graves figures out they are dealing with a special Revenant, and they head over to the local Revenant leader to find out his identity. The leader gives them the name they are looking for, but he also warns them that they have no idea what they have gotten themselves into. Ortez insults the leader, not understanding that the Revenant fear Reaper for good reason: he is dangerous to them in more ways than one.

The Revenant have survived for centuries by remaining in the shadows and hunting their prey, who for the most part have no knowledge of their existence. With their ability to take the dead bodies of the evil dead and bring them back to life as their new shell, the Revenant can walk around with many faces or shapes. Reaper uses this ability and the others with expert efficiency, switching bodies smoothly so he better surprise his victims and remain hidden until the moment he is ready to strike. The Revenant can also control and read the thoughts and personal histories of evil people. Add on their ability to heal quickly and jump from shadow to shadow, even over vast distances depending on their power level and you can understand why they are so dangerous.

Reaper’s murders have a purpose despite how random they appear. He challenges the heroes to his own little game, making the stakes all too real. If the heroes refuse to play they may miss their chance to influence the villain’s actions, if they fail more than one person will die a night, and finally if they don’t figure out the clues Reaper leaves behind more people will die when calls the following morning at a specific time. Ortez and Graves must accomplish all these things without the resources Graves normally has access to because of the mayor of the human city. These are many of the problems the two heroes must overcome in order to try to stop Reaper before he goes on a killing spree, or he outs the vampire community in the worst way before they are ready to come out to the general public.
