Where Are They Now: Janet Montgomery

Janet Montgomery can be most recognized for her roles in two of 2009’s most anticipated straight-to-DVD horror films. These films were Wrong Turn 3 and The Hills Run Red. In Wrong Turn 3, she played Alex, the sole survivor of her camp of friends who were mutilated by Three Finger. After escaping, she finds herself in danger again as not only is she still being hunted by the cannibal hillbilly, but now she is taken hostage by a group of escaped convicts who find themselves in a similar situation as Alex. Produced on a budget of only $2,000,000, the film has grossed over $5,000,000. While not living up to the expectations of the two early Wrong Turn‘s, it was still highly publicized.

The Hills Run Red is a horror film about a film of the same name that is dubbed “the scariest movie ever.” However, the director only made one copy and the film disappeared years ago. Obsessed horror fan, Tyler, and Serina (played by Montgomery) go on an adventure to find the film after locating the director’s daughter (played by Sophie Munk). Tyler decides to bring his video camera and make the trip into a documentary about finding this legendary film. Unfortunately, the group is attacked by the same killer shown in the film. Is The Hills Run Red a horror film or actual events someone captured on film?

So, where is Janet now?

Well, she starred in another independent film called Death Cert, which is about vampires. Then she went more mainstream. She became a season seven regular on the hit show, Entourage. After that she had a supporting role in the hit psychological thriller, Black Swan. Currently, she is appearing as a regular on the FOX show, Human Target. At least she’s still acting, but let’s hope she dips back into horror again soon!
