UPDATE: Marla Stoker, a producer for the film, was kind enough to drop me a message, informing me that the film was actually still in development, not finished, and that she would keep HorrorSociety on the list of places to update as the film progresses.
I stumbled onto the facebook page of a new independent horror film coming out soon. Ironically, I talked to two of the cast members, Deneen Melody and Cody Matthew Blymire, when I was working on this article just a couple weeks ago. They are both set to appear in a new film called Witches Playground. Written by Richard Novosak and directed by Bart Elfrink, Witches Playground is summarized as:
“WITCHES PLAYGROUND is a chilling story about a group of teens who decide to have a party on Halloween at an abandoned haunted attraction. Rumored to be haunted by a malicious old witch. Thirteen years prior to this night, a young girl witnessed a gruesome series of accidents that marked her permanently. Now as the party commences, she must face her greatest fears, discover the connections between the past and the present and somehow survive the infinite terrors of the Witches Playground…Enter if you dare.” — Witches Playground Official Facebook
Also starring in Witches Playground is Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), Leslie Easterbrook (The Devil’s Rejects), Rachel Chapman, and Wes Blymire. It was filmed in New Jersey, not too far from my house, actually. Produced by Dead of Night Films and Church Hill Productions, you can view the trailer for the film here. Some of it looks really great, and other parts I’m on the fence about. If there are any screeners available, I’d be glad to review one! Until this film is released, enjoy some screen captures from its facebook page:
