I love horror films that try not to recycle the same old plot. While House of Purgatory is ANOTHER haunted house film, it brings a new twist to the ordeal. Here is the plot, taken from IMDB. “Four teenagers go looking for a legendary haunted house that gives you money back for every floor you can complete. Once finding it, they realize the house is much more terrifying than a normal Halloween attraction – the house knows each of their secrets and one by one uses them against the teens.” The point of giving cash to the survivors, if they survive the floor, is a new idea I can get on board with. There are survival films out there, obviously, but none that mix cash prizes with ghosts and ghouls. So, I’m definitely going to be keeping my out for this indie film, and so can you by adding their official Facebook page here. It even has a neat little, music video type teaser trailer for you to look at.
But before I send you on your way, let me give you some details about this upcoming flick. The film will be the directorial debut for Tyler Christensen, although he has been production staff for such TV shows as Deal or No Deal and Extreme Home Make Over. He wrote the script also and Watching Eye Productions is going to be producing it. The most notable cast member is Brian Krause, who many will remember as Leo in Charmed or from Stephen King’s Sleepwalkers. Other cast members include Anne Leighton (Cyrus), Danny Rhodes, Laura Cloover, Brad Fry, and Lisa Musser. Hopefully we can expect to see this by the end of the year, being that it’s currently in post production. Check out some behind the scenes stills below!
