Worm follows a day in the life of high school teacher Geoffrey Dodd. He’s a seemingly mild manner man with a gentle disposition. But beneath the surface, something sinister lurks and it’s worming its way out.
Robert Nolan portrays Geoffrey Dodd in this Fatal Picture short that explores the darker side of a person’s psyche.
This 20 minute short is one that I can’t get out of my mind. We’ve all had the same thoughts as mild manner school teacher Geoffrey Dodd. We want to lash out when encountering others who treat us disrespectful or try to appear superior in some respect. But whereas our thoughts are fleeting and much in the moment, Geoffrey Dodd dwells on these thoughts, letting them marinate and simmer, and each time they surface, they become darker, more sinister until they explode in the ultimate climax of unthinkable actions – almost.
While I will admit this is powerful and intense short which conveys a story that I don’t know if it’s been presented this way before, I found myself a little bored and distracted with the presentation, the majority of it coming from the thoughts of Geoffrey Dodd. I would have like to seen more action and a little less of listening to this man’s thoughts.
