I was glancing over a WWE related site because I love the WWE Divas. There’s something about attractive women who can kick ass that just works for me. I was pleasantly surprised to see that two former WWE Divas will be releasing their own brand of horror hosting DVDs. Not much is known at this time, but here is the overview as of right now:
Maria’s B-Movie Mayhem – Maria Kanellis joined the WWE in 2004 as part of the Diva Search contest, where she placed fifth. She was still offered a contract and stayed as a prominent “face” until she left the company in early 2010. She has also posed for Playboy, released a pop/rock album, and came in fifth place in last year’s Celebrity Apprentice. Her horror hosting show will be called Maria’s B-Movie Mayhem. The series will be released by Code Red and will feature “upcoming cult and horror films,” that are distributed by the company PROBABLY including God’s Bloody Acre (1975) and Nightmare (1981). Katarina Leigh Waters’ Nightmare Theater – Katrina Leigh Waters joined the WWE in 2008, after holding the Women’s Championship belt twice in WWE’s developmental territory OVW. She left the company shortly after in 2010, only to pop up in TNA several months later. She still wrestles for TNA on SpikeTV Thursday nights and is a former Knockout Tag Team Champion with the company. Her horror hosting show will be called Katarina Leigh Waters’ Nightmare Theater. The series will be released by Scorpion and will show “a new line of horror DVDs.” Unlike Maria’s show, some titles have already been released for Nightmare Theater including American Nightmare (1983), The House On Sorority Row (1983), and The Carpenter (1988). The first batch of DVDs will be released in September 2011 and will continue until March 2012. Click here to view a short teaser trailer for the project.
