Save The Black Waters of Echo Pond Dvd Campaign

A few months ago I posted an article about an update on the official Black Waters of Echo Pond website where it was promised that the film was nearing a distribution deal. That was the last thing we heard and now the site is gone. Despite poor reviews, the film opened in 404 theatres back in April of 2010. It was only in theatres for 3 days, but managed to gross $255,000. Not bad for an indie film, right? This R rated film stars reigning scream queen Danielle Harris, Robert Patrick, Sean Lawlor, James Duval, and the Avellan Twins. The plot, summarized by IMDB, is as follows: “Nine friends take a holiday at a Victorian home on a private island and uncover a game that when played brings out the worst in each of them. Jealously, greed, hatred, lust, all of the things they keep buried deep inside themselves rise to the surface and come to a boil.”

Now, if one was to stumble across the official Black Waters of Echo Pond Facebook [click], they fill find a page filled with dozens and dozens of people asking, “when is this coming out on DVD?” There isn’t one response from the filmmakers. So, someone started an online petition for indie fans to sign so we can show Sean Clark, a producer of the film, and the owners of the rights to the film, that we want to see Black Waters of Echo Pond. 233 people have signed the petition, including me, which you can view here. Remember when Paranormal Activity first came out? It only came out in a handful of theatres near college campuses. It was because of an online petition that gathered 1,000,000 signatures that Paranormal Activity had a wide release. I’m not saying that we can get 1,000,000 signatures for Black Waters of Echo Pond, but maybe we can at least get a limited DVD release, right? So I encourage any dedicated HorrorSociety readers to sign the petition. Follow my lead, have your signature read “HorrorSociety readers want Black Waters of Echo Pond.” Let’s see if we can make a miracle happen. If something good happens, I promise to buy two copies, one for me, and one to do a free raffle for on the site…just for you! (Plus, I read the film has a lesbian sex scene involving Danielle Harris. That’s enough to fight for, right?)  Click here to do your part.
