Pictured to the left is the early poster art for upcoming scifi creature feature, Sand Sharks. Dr.Gore announced the film back at the beginning of April. Sand Sharks will feature Corin Nemec and Brooke Hogan who must battle sharks that can somehow swim through layers and layers of sand without dying from lack of oxygen. Maybe the plot will help it make more sense?
“Prehistoric sand-dwelling sharks are unleashed on the island of White Sands when an underwater earthquake cracks open a crater deep beneath the ocean surface. The most menacing beasts to ever rule the waters, now rule the sand; with their monster appetites they mercilessly munch on anything that crosses their path.”
Nope, still doesn’t make much sense, but you can expect all the goofiness and camp in Sand Sharks that you will see in any SyFy original, which is probably where this will end up. Apparently, this is Brooke Hogan’s [singer, reality star, and daughet of Hulk Hogan] first real attempt at acting. So, please, put the torches and pitch forks down until we see the film.
The film, directed by Mark Atkins and American World Pictures, is in post production but a release date has not been set.Meanwhile… Does the poster art look familiar for you? Well it should! Pictured to the right is the movie poster for Jaws! Oddly similar. Think it’s a rip off, right? Well, sort of… Mark Atkins has promised that Sand Sharks will play homages to Jaws and Tremors.
