As we head towards the October 18, 2011 DVD release of Wrong Turn 4, we’re getting more and more media on the upcoming horror film. The new poster for Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings is pictured to the left. In Wrong Turn 4, “a group of friends that decide to go snowmobiling during their winter break. They make a “wrong turn”, getting lost in a storm, and seek shelter in an abandoned sanatorium. They are completely isolated by the storm and are thankful they can get out of the elements. But the sanatorium has a troubled past, and some of its former patients still reside there and are not happy about the intrusion. In a deadly game of cat and mouse, the college kids must fight to survive the night.” Declan Obrien, who directed Wrong Turn 3, returns for this film along with a cast including Tenika Davis, Scott Johnson, Jennifer Pudavick, and Dan & Sean Skene.
Unlike Wrong Turn 3, I think Wrong Turn 4 has endless possibilities. Moving the plot from the backwoods of West Virginia in the summer to some abandoned hospital during a brutal winter gives the film a lot of different directions to go in. What does the sanatorium have to do with “beginnings?” Were these cannibals bread there for a reason? Why have they some returned? I’m excited to see if this film sheds a lot of backlight on the Three Finger’s family. Hopefully, someone on HorroSociety is too!
