Principal Photography Completed for ‘Backwater’

Backwater is directed by Chris Schrack, with filming recently wrapping in Virginia and Maryland a week ago. The cast will include Justin Tully (Sorority Row), Liana Werner-Gray (The Man In The Maze), Andrew Roth (Project 7), and  Thomas Daniel (Rapturous).  Pretty good cast, I must say. Can’t wait to see how they blend together on screen. Here is the synopsis, which I’m taking from the Backwater official Facebook [here]:

“Cass and Mark venture into the wilderness for a weekend of camping and relaxation. Soon after their arrival, they realize they are not alone in the woods. When Mark meets Glenn, a loner fishing in a secluded area, and Cass meets officers Marshall and Helm, something seems slightly off. While common sense says there is no cause for concern, they can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong. Something is happening beneath the scenes. And the truth is far more sinister than meets the eye.”

Along with Chris Schrack and the amazing cast, Brendan Bagley (1st assistant director), Christian Briceno (2nd assistant director), and Steve Tolin (special effects, Homecoming) will be filling out the rest of the crew behind Backwater. Check out the official website for Backwater [here]. Stay tuned at HorrorSociety for more info as this upcoming horror flick reaches post production and release. And to end things out with a good note, here is a quote from Andrew Roth about reaching the end of filming:

“Last night on set of Backwater Film & it’ll be sad indeed! A serious collection of talent between the cast & crew on this that will really be missed & the scenery of Indian Head Maryland makes it for a peaceful location that felt more like a vacation then work. Don’t wanna leave:-(.”
