Snuff Delivers Grainy Goodness.

Snuff is a 3 minute and 27 second film by Maude Michaud which flips the script on the traditional “stalker genre”.  Snuff starts out with a man (Martin Plouffe) packing up his tools of the trade and preparing for the hunt (yes, I am using Dexter references here).  Given that the short is filmed in grainy black & white and absolute zero dialogue we are left making up our own conclusions as to what he is doing.

Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long to find out what he is up too.  The film switches camera modes to the Stalker’s prospective as he stalks his next victim (Isabelle Stephen) through the park to her home.  From here, the story flips and takes us from what we believe would be your typical stalker film and into what I would call, without giving away to many details of the ending, but M.Night Shyamalan should take notice, a cool and brilliant twist ending.  All in all, even though the Snuff is only three and a half minutes long, it kept my attention the entire time and in the end does the job of delivering a unique ending on a tired genre
