ThanksKilling II…Fall 2012?

Maybe! One of America’s favorite holidays was tainted in 2009, when a homicidal turkey started killing off a bunch of college kids on Thanksgiving break in the indie horror film, ThanksKilling. Apparently, the killer turkey was somewhat successful in the indie horror circuit, and it has a 41% approval rating on RottenTomatoes and a 3.9 rating on IMDB. ThanksKilling was even the #4 most downloaded film on Hulu during the Thanksgiving season in 2010.

Such is Hollywood, all semi-successful films deserve a sequel…and it looks like we’ll be getting ThanksKilling II in the Fall of 2012. The film is currently seeking funding from kickstarter [here]. On the page, writer and director Jordan Downey guarantees fans that, despite not being in pre-production yet, ThanksKilling II has already secured a distribution deal with Gravitas Ventures and Video-On-Demand. ThanksKilling II is expected to see casting and pre-production begin this summer, followed by production this fall, and post-production beginning soon after. All of this would lead up to a Fall 2012 release date for the one-liner, trash talking killer turkey.

So, what do all you HorrorSociety readers think? Any fans of the first film?

  1. OMG PLEASE PLEASE let there be a sequel.. that is if it will be as amazing as the first one!! This is one of my all time fave cheesy horror flicks. I came across it on Netflix live a long while back and was like "homicidal turkey??? MUST WATCH" .. I love it!
