Yesterday, the teaser trailer for an upcoming horror film, What They Say, was released to Youtube. I just gave it a watch, and it was awesome! It starts out really simple and calm, but then – BAM! Insert crazy blood and gore. Needles to say, it caught my attention. Click here to view the teaser for What They Say.
The synopsis, taken from IMDB, is as follows: “Lost and alone, the young women (Heather Dorff), finds solace in the form of a glistening blade, splitting her skin deeply. Her self-indulgent mother and obnoxious sister (Kelsey Zukowski), are completely oblivious to her inner-turmoil. She has long since become numb to the world around her, getting that sensual release, as the razor cuts deeper, watching the blood drip, is all that matters. As soon as the last drop falls, the calm is stripped away from her with it. How far will she go to silence the hunger that now consumes her? Will she be able to regain control of her life, body, and sanity?”
I’m not a big fan of the self mutilation theme, but I’m interested to see how What They Say revolves the central plot around it. Scream Queen Kelsey Zukowski wrote this film and she also plays one of the main characters. Justin R Romine served as the director. Other cast members starring in What They Say include Heather Dorff, Kitsie Duncan, Bernadette Lords, Colleen McDermott, and Tina Renee Grace.
