Acort International Acquires Jeoa Production’s new feature FILTH TO ASHES FLESH TO DUST. Film slated for Limited Theatrical Sept-Nov 2011; Broadcast, VoD and DVD release in early 2012.
Acort International, in association with Nocturnal Features and Midnight Releasing, the premier independent distributors’ for independent filmmakers, has just acquired Filth to Ashes Flesh to Dust from 2 Thumbs Up Entertainment for world-wide distribution.
The film, which was executively produced and written by Armont Casale and directed by Paul Morrell, was quickly acquired by Darin G. Ramage, Acort International’s President of International Sales Division. Ramage says, “I was extremely impressed with the film’s storyline, acting and theatrical production quality. The killer is truly skin-crawling creepy!”
Filth To Ashes Flesh To Dust: Everyone has a weakness. The schizophrenic serial killer known as Purge made it his mission to eliminate the weak and build a perfect society. But news of his demise has been exaggerated, as a group of college bound friends on one last adventure, quickly discover. Each of their weaknesses exposed, only the strongest will survive.
“I wanted to do a classic slasher film, but add some smartness to it”, says Executive Producer and Writer, Armont Casale. “I’m a horror fan, making a movie for horror fans. It’s a fun movie but it makes you wonder, what’s my weakness? Would I be a victim?”
Filth to Ashes Flesh to Dust is directed by Paul Morrell (Machete Joe, MTV Movie Award nominee) and co-produced by Terry James (Transformers, Rush Hour 2, The Crow) and Gordon Vasquez (The Mourning Hour, Reunited). Amongst the film’s cast is Anton Troy, who also stars in horror director Adam Green’s (Hatchet I & II) new film Chillerama.
Synopsis:
The serial killer known as Purge lived and died by this code. But is he dead? Driving home from a road trip, ERIC and SHELLY take a back road to avoid a traffic jam. They encounter the serial killer Purge. Eric survives but Shelly is murdered. A year later, a group of adventure seeking high school grads venture to purge’s lair. Amongst them is Eric’s brother JUAN. Eric sets out to save his brother, and get revenge on Purge. For the six teens, their imperfections will be the deciding factor if Purge shows them mercy. But if everyone is imperfect, will any of them survive?
