Rapper Releases Short Horror Film

Rapper Kid Cudi released a short film, Maniac, on his blog last week. I’m only finding out about it now, and damn! It is horrific. This is the Ohio native’s first attempt at film directing and it is pretty damn good. Although, some of this may be chalked up to the partial collaboration with A-lister Shia LaBeuof. Kid Cudi, whose hit single “Day N Night,” a rap song about getting high, went double platinum and hit #3 on the Hot 100 songs in 2009. He’s been struggling to capture the same success since then, but if forays into feature-length horror films are on the horizon – it’s a safe bet that he will make some money there too. Check out the 10 minute short film by clicking here. Maniac features Cudi and his lyrical partner, Cage, going on a massive killing spree. Maniac is truly horrific and bares a minor resemblance to 2002’s Irreversible. Give it a watch. I’m not impressed by Kid Cudi musically, but his short film is a great addition to horror.
