Happy Veterans Day

It’s Veterans Day and I’m feeling patriotic. What do we horror fans do when we celebrate a holiday? We pop in a horror movie that relates to the occasion. Celebrating Christmas? Easy. Pop in your out-of-print Silent Night, Deadly Night DVD. Celebrating Valentines Day? No brainer. There’s a movie about this slasher dressed as a miner who takes names on this Hallmark holiday. Don’t even get me started on Halloween. But when it comes to Veterans Day horror, there isn’t much to choose from. There is Memorial Valley Massacre but hence the name. You’d think for such a touchy subject there would be more horror covering the real horror of being a Veteran. We all know that horror is notorious for social undertones. Hopefully we’ll see some good ones in the future.

Doesn’t matter though. Whether you’re off from work celebrating this important holiday or working your regular shift, remember that life as an American isn’t as easy as the rest of the world may think but it is DEFINITELY easier than most because we had and still have the bravest soldiers in the world. I appreciate your service. Happy Veteran’s Day!
