Jesse Eisenberg Suing Camp Hell

Apparently the Zombieland star has never heard that all publicity is good publicity…

Jesse Eisenberg is suing the independent horror film, Camp Hell, because they are using his face to advertise the DVD cover. He is suing Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment, citing that his appearance in the film was less than five minutes long and doesn’t warrant advertisement as a star. Sources are reporting that Eisenberg filmed his scene in Camp Hell back in 2007, well before he made his big break in films like Zombieland and The Social Network. He was on the set of Camp Hell for one day, was paid $3,000, and is now suing the picture for $3,000,000. I guess no one has ever informed Eisenberg about a release form? It pretty much gives the creators permission to use your image any way they want. So if Camp Hell, a film about evil invading a Christian children’s retreat, wants to make Eisenberg look mute or funny in some way, they can. If Camp Hell wants to cut him out all together, they can. This all just looks bad for Eisenberg, who just looks like he’s gotten “too big for his britches” to me.

This isn’t the first time an actor or actress has been advertised as being the lead or central character. Two films that come to mind are – Nine Lives: a film that featured Paris Hilton on the cover even though she was the first to die in the first fifteen minutes and Halloween: Resurrection features Jamie Lee Curtis on the cover even though this was her swan song before the opening credits even rolled.
