The long-awaited horror film, The Cabin In The Woods, will see the light of day after a three-year delay. The upcoming film, which was written and produced by Joss Whedon, recently unveiled its latest movie poster which you can view to the left. Joss Whedon is famously known for his work in science fiction with his shows Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse. The Cabin In The Woods was originally intended for a February 2010 release date, but suffered a series of setbacks due to conversions to 3D and financial issues within MGM. Now, along with the new poster, the film has a new release date and will be released to theaters by Lionsgate on April 13, 2012.
The plot of The Cabin In The Woods is described as “tongue in cheek” and will revolve around, “A group of friends at a cabin retreat scratch the surface of something so massive and horrific that they can only begin to fathom it as time quickly runs out.” Cloverfield’s Drew Goddard directed this flick and it will star Richard Jenkins (Let Me In), Bradley Whitford (“The West Wing”), Jesse Williams (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Whedonverse actors Fran Kranz (“Dollhouse”), Amy Acker (“Angel”), and Tom Lenk (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer”).
