Scarecrow At Midnight is one of many Tales From Mutantville

Mutantville Productions and Image Impact Group are working together to bring horror fans a brand new anthology called Tales From Mutantville. The film will feature several short films titled Devil Comes Down, Respawner, Indigo Child, Family Fiend, and Scarecrow At Midnight. Obviously the piece of the anthology that has caught my attention the most is Scarecrow At Midnight. Not only does the short film star Angela Pritchett (Porkchops and Plan 9), but it reminds me of the classic Scarecrow from 2002 with Tiffany Shepis.

The plot is actually somewhat similar, except that it seems like it will be told from a woman’s point of view. The Official Facebook summarizes the film: “Sonia thought she’d spend a quiet Halloween alone, but her classmates decide to pay her a surprise visit. Just when she thought it couldn’t get any worse, Sawbones comes home. . . to kill,” and the Mutantville Website gives us further plot info with: “Sonia, the bookish new girl in town, is tormented by her classmates and finds solace in her only friend an old scarecrow on her grandparents’ farm.  When the scarecrow comes to life on Halloween night it brings with it a secret from her family’s past.”

Scarecrow At Midnight is directed by J.T. McRoberts, written by J.T. McRoberts and Angela Pritchett, and produced by J.T., Robert Filion, George Blalock, and S. Brent Bowers. The film stars Katie Bearden, Michael Sharpe, Matthew Ewald, Jeremy Bonham, Angela Pritchett, Joan Schuermeyer (piano/kill of the week in Zombieland), and many others.

Now, this film is currently making the rounds at several film festivals and will be a part of Tales From Mutantville when the DVD is released. In the meantime, you can buy a t-shirt for the film here, and click here to visit the Mutantville channel on YouTube where you can see lots of behind the scenes videos for Scarecrow At Midnight and other Mutantville films. I can’t wait to check it all out.
